About DEFTAC STUDIOS
Originally known as South West Sydney Defensive Tactics Studio, Chief Instructor Michael "Mick" Bell opened the doors in 2008 and began training students in Tactical Krav Maga, becoming one of the first self defence schools in South West Sydney specific for Krav Maga training.
"DEFTAC", short for Defensive Tactics is a term commonly used in security - law enforcement - military. South West Sydney Defensive Tactics Studio was later changed to DEFTAC Studios.
Deftac Krav Maga Instructors have a proud lineage having trained for over a decade in Krav Maga and been accredited under Itay Gil (Protect Academy, Israeli Special Forces), Carl Haley (Tactical Krav Maga, Australian Defence Force) and Michael Bell (South West Sydney Defensive Tactics Studio, Deftac Krav Maga).
In 2019, Mick Bell and Robby Clark co-founded and launched the Deftac Krav Maga program. In 2021, Mick Bell retired from DEFTAC Studios and Robby Clark took over as Chief Instructor with Michael Estepa, Dave Miu and Grant Hollis as part of the Instructor Team. The DEFTAC Krav Maga Program is constantly evolving and utlises some of the worlds best self defence and martial arts systems with its foundation in Tactical Krav Maga; highlighting the skills and experience of our instructor team.
